Sectarian Islam is not in the Qur’an

The religion which the media and the Traditionalist calls Islam is not in the Qur’an. All definitions come from the Hadith literature.

This would be fine if the Traditionalist admitted as much, but he doesn’t. He conflates a religion which has its origins elsewhere with a revelation which God has given to mankind.

And this is important since the West is now importing this religion wholesale into countries with an entirely different tradition.

The Companions of the Cave in the Quran DECODED

The Traditionalist’s reading of the story of the companions of the cave in the Qur’an (chapter 18) suffers like so much of his presentation: it requires one to assumes his conclusions and accept his values imported from elsewhere – and the result is a bit of a mess.

In this lesson, I go through – step by step – the verses identifying Qur’anic mechanisms en route to elucidating both the meaning and the import of this important story. The result is that we are all called upon to stand up – not for a religion – but for God alone, and that the imperative to warn our communities against idolatry is for all believers, not just prophets.
